Asset Recovery
We act for Governments seeking to trace, freeze and recover misappropriated public funds and bribes from dishonest public officials, their companies, trusts and associates, and advise on the complex political, practical and legal issues that arise.

We also advise on claims against financial institutions which knowingly handle the proceeds of corruption, or against contractors that have paid bribes to win contracts or gain other advantages.

We also act for companies seeking to freeze and recover the proceeds of fraud in civil proceedings.

One of our partners, Tim Daniel, is a co-author of the Oxford University Press publication, Corruption and Misuse of Public Office.

"The Commercial Litigation practice has a great deal of experience in the field of asset recovery, having conducted litigation in various parts of the world including the Caribbean and Indonesia.  Working in this area has given me a fascinating insight into the covert operations of governments across the world seeking to recover bribes and other illegally acquired assets. As such, a trainee can expect to undertake exciting work with a truly international dimension. "
